The soybean stem borer, Dectest taxanus texanus, is a long-hored beetle (Family Cerambycidae) native to the central U.S. It ahs a wide host range, including soybeans, sunflwoers, and several broadleaf weeds, including coclebur, ragweed, and wild sunflowers.
Over the past decade this beetle has moved into production areas of south central Nebraska.
