Nonpoint source contamination of groundwater by nitrate-nitrogen is a problem across Nebraska. Each Natural Resources District (NRD) has developed and is implementing a groundwater quality and quantity management plan that outlines actions to be taken to address nitrate contamination and conserve groundwater.
