Basic Soil and Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering/Agricultural Water Management and Related Terminology

As the irrigation engineering field itself has evolved over time, especially within the last five to six decades, basic terminologies used in irrigation and related fields have also undergone some significant changes. Similarly, common understanding or definition of irrigation and related terminology can aid in better communication between scientists, Extension personnel, producers, practitioners, and other professionals. The primary objective of this publication is to define the terminology commonly used by the irrigation science community and others.
