Horse Insect Control Guide

G950
Published 2006

Nebraskans keep horses for a number of reasons. Some are 4-H projects or for urban users (recreational), others are for ranch and farm (work), breeding farms and racing.

Some of the insect pests of horses also are pests of other livestock. Other insects are specific pests to horses, but may be pests only on farm and ranch horses.

The best methods of pest control vary depending on the type of horse production.
