Jointed goatgrass (Aegilops cylindrica L.) is a winter annual weed that has spread rapidly in the winter wheat-fallow areas of western Nebraska.
Jointed goatgrass and wheat are genetically related, having the D genome in common. This makes it difficult to distinguish jointed goatgrass in wheat. It also makes selective control with herbicides difficult.
