Air leakage and inadequate insulation are leading causes of energy waste in most homes; however, air leakage is often the least understood part of high energy usage. Air leakable contributes to unnecessary costs, less comfortable surroundings, and may have health risks. Reducing leakage through good air sealing may reduce utility costs by as much as 40 percent when compared to other houses of the same type and age.
